Most of our clients fly to and from Kilimanjaro International Airport.

We can also meet you at Arusha Airport.

When you Arrive

At the airport
Wilbert and his Arusha Team will meet you upon arrival.

If you fly to Kilimanjaro airport, you will clear passport control and collect your luggage. You then have to walk through customs. Most clients have nothing to declare at customs (Green line) so the whole entry process will only take 10-25 minutes.

As you leave the customs exit area, look for our Kiliwarrior page board in the Arrivals hall. Our Team will assist you with issues such as lost luggage and currency exchange.

Delayed baggage is a common problem especially if you have 2 or more connecting flights. PLEASE buy travel insurance that include baggage protection. It will save you many hours of frustrating phone calls and emergency shopping expenses. Read our insurance information page.

Private transport to your Lodge is included. You will appreciate the personal service by our Team and the quality of our vehicles.  The drive is about 40 -90 minutes depending on your choice of accommodation.

Arriving at your hotel

We offer a choice of accommodations but our lodge of choice for the western routes is Ndarakwai Ranch in the foothills of Kilimanjaro. For Machame and other routes we also use the Mountain Village Lodge, Kigongoni Lodge, Rivertrees Country Inn, and the Arusha Hotel.

Upon arrival, you will be welcomed with a smile! As a Kiliwarrior guest, you don't stand in line to check in. Lines are for tourists - and with the Kiliwarriors you are not a tourist! Your check-in has been completed before your arrival!

You will receive your key and proceed directly to your room where your luggage will be delivered.

Most guests arrive in the late evening, so we suggest you take it easy tonight and try to get a good night's rest.

The next day

Wilbert and his team will arrange a pre-climb briefing at your lodge. They will tell you what to expect and talk to you about the route, about safety and about the mountain.

bullet

They will inspect your gear and assist you with last-minute shopping/rental if needed.

bullet

Wilbert will explain the tipping customs on Kilimanjaro and help you with currency exchange.

bullet

Wilbert may suggest a delightful half-day cultural tour of a Maasai village or even a safari!

bullet

Sort your luggage tonight as per Wilbert's instructions. Some of your luggage will be stored at the hotel while you climb. The rest must go in a daypack and/or a duffle bag for the climb.

bullet

Do not drink alcohol tonight. Arrange for a wake-up call and try to get a good night's rest!

The BIG day
Eat a good breakfast! Fill your water bottles.

Your Land Cruiser will meet you at the hotel and the staff will hand Wilbert a receipt for each of your stored luggage. We will ensure that it don't get lost on the mountain!

And then you are on your way for the adventure of a lifetime!
