Inside "Kilimanjaro Guides"

About Faraja
Faraja Mwaijande grew up on the foothills of Mount Meru near Arusha and is a
Western Breach specialist guide with more than 100 trips on this route.
He
was a porter on the early Wester
n
Breach expeditions lead by Scott Fischer (the famous mountaineer who died on
Everest). He has fond memories of those trips with Scott who was highly
respected by the local people.
Faraja has done guide services for the best known companies on Kilimanjaro and
is very highly regarded by all his previous employers. In fact, they all want
him back, especially now that he is becoming a celebrity as a guide and narrator
in a new DVD about
climbing Kilimanjaro!
Faraja has a style that's all his own! He is outgoing and the soul of the
Kiliwarrior. He leads the singing and dancing and is always having fun. When it
sounds like a party in the porter's tent you can bet that Faraja is right in the
middle of the action!
Faraja is a licensed Mountain Guide with the Kilimanjaro National Park Board. He
holds a 1st Aid certificate and completes the 80-hour WFR course annually.
